Daniel Gilmore

MANAGING DIRECTOR

As founder, Dan brings over 25 years of industry experience, with a portfolio of more than 500 successfully delivered projects.

I’m deeply passionate about building meaningful projects rooted in trust and community. Personally, I'm driven by endurance sport, local church and community involvement, and I bring a collaborative, people-first mindset to leadership and management—fuelled by a commitment to helping others succeed.

My Construction Journey
My Journey

In 2020, I relocated to Christchurch with my family of four, selling my North Island-based construction and development company, Gilmore Homes and Builders Ltd, which had grown into a multimillion-dollar operation. Over 18 years, I delivered more than 500 projects across the North Island of Aotearoa New Zealand, covering residential, commercial, and civil infrastructure developments.

I’ve since immersed myself in Christchurch’s vibrant and resilient construction scene, managing a wide range of contracts and building strong relationships with local clients, contractors, and community leaders.

I’m proud to be part of a city that’s not just rebuilding—but reimagining itself.

Giving Back

One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been volunteering on earthquake-damaged community facilities. Christchurch’s recovery is ongoing, and I’ve contributed hands-on to restoring spaces that bring people together—from sports facilities to heritage buildings. It’s a reflection of my values: integrity, service, and a deep respect for the communities we build in.

GCM: A New Chapter

In 2023, I established Gilmore Construction and Management Ltd (GCM) with a clear vision: to enhance project delivery through greater efficiency, while maintaining uncompromising standards of quality and fostering strong relationships. With over 18 years of experience leading a construction and development company across multiple sectors, I’ve developed a comprehensive skill set and proven processes that enable me to collaborate effectively with clients and bring their projects to life. GCM plays a pivotal role in providing the structure, support, and leadership that ensures every project is guided to successful completion.
